The moving claims in the military are so easy now, much much easier than in the past, that the process was smooth, but lengthy. In the case of my URB, the repair significantly improved the sound and playability of the axe, so the time and hassle was worth it.

| | Registered User Endorsing Artist: FEA Labs, Jule Amps | | Join Date: Jun 2004 Location: los angeles, CA | | I re-bonded with my YYD last night. I've been rotating between the YYD, Monarch 4 and a Sadowsky PJ4 lately, and have been doing more rock-ish gigs. Had a Steely Jam gig last night (after a ilve band karaoke gig Thu night, and a wedding gig today) and beforehand I set up in the living room and cycled through the basses to see what I wanted to bring. Nice to have those choices but for CDO guys like me it is funny the criteria that starts to pop up. Jason, I don't know how you get out the door with 12 different Monarchs to pick
Anywho, there has been part of me that wanted to "save" the YYD for certain gigs. Or be extra careful when/where it went. That was part of the rationale for getting the Monarch - both to have a backup and have a slightly different voice (but also a bit less "showy" instrument). But after going back and forth between the basses, frankly the YYD just flat out kills. And I reminded myself that I'm not saving my instruments for the next guy - I got the to play, and play the crap out of. So the Sad went as backup but sat in the gig bag the whole night.
I know I wouldn't have much if any FOH support for this club, so i brought both Berg AE210 cabs along with a fairly recently acquired Tecamp Puma 500 head. I stack the cabs vertically and swapped my FEA dual band comp and tuner to a nano pedal board that sat on top of the cab next to the head (very tight stage for 10 pieces). That setup flat out killed. The YYD just sings through that amp/cab combo. It covered everything from thick P-bass thump on tunes like Pretzel Logic and Hey 19, to snarling bridge tone on Green Earrings. During the outro sax solo on Josie I was chasing the sax lines (she plays in my jazz combo as well so we know each other's playing well) and the YYD is just so damn easy to play up/down/all around the neck.
At any rate, just wanted to mindlessly gush for a bit and I guess I'm somewhat of a monogamist in the end. YYD and Rob Allen Deep 4 are the 1-2 punch, and everything else will be lonely for awhile.
Well, at least until the MGS shows up
