Sorry for disturbing you during your Xmas break but is there any particular reason why your Viceroy model doesn't come in the dovetail or neck- through version as yet.
Any future plans when those options will be available?
Merry XMas for those who celebrate and Happy Holidays for all.

| | | | I remember them saying that a neck-thru / dovetail Viceory would be extremely difficult to pull off because of either the detachable fretboard and / or the moveable pickups. I remember Jason saying something along the lines of "it'd be too expensive labor wise and not worth it" or something. I'm sure they'd have no problem with doing a Viceory shaped dovetail / neck-thru, just probably not with the detachable fretboard piece or moveable pickup. |

Neck side is another story. I think the downside is that it can theoretically damp the string more. Haven't experienced it though. I've heard it can create strange overtones too, but you'd be more likely to here that on the neck pickup being set close. It probably because it creates a sort of a tight node magnetically.
I'm kinda indifferent to Silly Sheehan, but I did see a video where he talked about the pickup acting as a ramp and helpful in the development of his three finger technique. Of course there are a lot of guys doing this sort of things with ramps Garrison, Willis, etc... |

S. | Not speaking for Jason, but maybe no one has asked for that configuration yet. There have been only a few Viceroys built - I believe there's one on order now with all the standard specs. Then you have the original two, one of them Mike's. Mine is different in many ways, but still retains the bolt-on neck because I wanted the tonal characteristics of that configuration. I didn't even think to ask about different neck joints. I'm sure Jason will set us straight when he gets back from his sabbatical.

| | | | @ Michele. Experiencing the same on my MGS. Out of the blue, and at the risk of sounding like I'm on goofers, a trance-like experience. I mean, I'm still playing my usual BS but from entirely different place. Out of body. Extraordinary. Again, I'm not on goofers. |

They sound ok, but I'd be interested in hearing about other brands too like the fodera ajs cause I've had quality / service issue with these. If it considered "off topic" a pm is fine.
Hope everyone has a real nice Holiday! |
