So I mentioned that I was having a friend build me custom wooden pickup covers to replace the plastic ones that came on my imperial 5.just got the bass back today and I'm more than impressed. I decided to remove the Birdseye maple ramp though as I realized I prefer the feel without it. Damn I love this bass.

I guess the shiney thing was due to incandescent light, while the old picture was taken under strong sunlight...

The bass and playing sounds great. One of my favorite music pieces ever. I could listen to/watch Yo Yo Ma play that over and over and feel moved every time.

Thanks, now if I could only play it on upright at pitch I'd have something going for me, it's such a beast of a piece on upright though, and that darn bow hides nothing!

Just received that magical phone call from my local retailer.... "Your bass is shipping from Fodera today".

Will be in my hands Friday or early next week. I hate to admit, I am pretty damned excited.

Hi Jason,

I hope you all did good business at the 2013 Winter NAMM.

Just a quick question from left field: I have always wondered if all the new basses made by Fodera end up on your Newborn page (except maybe for each of the individual standard models) or are some omitted for whatever reason?

By the way there was talk about a new Fodera website not to long ago, is that still in the cards?

Regards,

S.

Yes, all Foderas end up on the Newborn page -- except for Standards where we show one out of each ten. The occasional error on our part might also omit one or two here and there also (because we forget sometimes). We are still working on the next version of the website...

Regards,

J
