Where could I get or find the strap lock that is supposed to be attach on the strap preferably a good one | Fodera uses Dunlop straploks. You can order them from a lot websites. Look on bestbassgear.com or sweetwater.com. Or call the fodera shop! |

This bass earned our first yet perfect score in Phil Maneri's technical review! |

Since the instruments are intended to be used by professionals, we felt that the slight decrease in overall aesthetics caused by the string trees was more than offset by the ease of use (compared to retaining bars). In our humble opinion, retaining bars are a PITA when you change strings...
Hope that makes sense!

The Luthier's gathering that you guys hosted on Wednesday evening was a real highlight. As for Phil scoring us perfectly...wow. I have read every issue of the magazine since you guys started and I really never thought that I would see the day when Phil Maneri would give an instrument a perfect score. We are deeply humbled by the MGS being the first...
Hopefully you and Vic will be joining the Fodera Family one day soon!
Kindest regards,

Jason | I ,for one prefer the look of this string tree to that one might get with a retaining bar.
Looks good i think!

That is the back of the VW Monarch Limited Edition. You can read more about this instrument here: http://www.fodera.com/Main/NewBornDe...uredItemID=526

It was completed last year and one of our dear friends (and customers) was kind enough to bring it to the NAMM Show. The next one will be built with slightly different specs for Anthony Jackson over the next several months.
There are then two more that will be built during 2013. We are limiting the number of these that we will build per year to 3 or 4. They are an incredible amount of work.

Are you at liberty yet to share the specs, of the instrument built for Anthony Jackson?

The major differences between the first Hybrid and AJ's will be that AJ's instrument will be 1" narrower, have an Ebony FB (instead of Brazilian RW) and a Koa top and back (rather than Pommele Sapele).
Other than the Hybrid construction and the woods mentioned above, all other specs will be as per AJ's current Presentation.

I do clean the bass after and before (sometimes even during) the gig. Quote:

As for holes / no holes, we prefer to have exposed pole pieces whenever possible and believe that the instruments experience slightly better tone by so doing which is why all of the Standards come that way and why left to our own devices we will spend the extra 20-30 minutes drilling holes in our wooden covers even though we charge the same price with or without holes.
That said, there are two very big caveats...
1. If you dig in so hard that you have a tendency to brush against the poles with your picking hand. This will cause noise and for players like that (Joey, by way of example), we recommend solid covers.
2. If you tend to sweat a lot because your sweat can rust the pole pieces.
Like everything else in building instruments, it is all a question of choosing the right trade-offs and nothing is perfect for everyone. As a guy with a light touch and who does not sweat much, all of my basses have exposed pole pieces...
Hope that helps!
