Mine is a Standard. I was actually going to order one with the exact specs as the standard ( with the exception of the one piece neck) but when I saw the standard I was psyched to get basically what I wanted at a better price. I'd describe it as a refined 70's Jazz bass in sound ( in single coil mode). Took this clip this morning. Some new tunes I'm working on. I've got it strung E-C, but normally have it. Hope these different vids give you some examples of the versatility and sonic characteristics of the different Foderas

Yes he did. He also has a third with slightly different specs.

Good point iwearpumas! We aim to put up a vid of each instrument that comes in, as long as it's not spoken for.

You can find some clips of my two at my website below. Just search Fodera once you're there. I like the jazzy clip called "daughters".

For Valentine's Day my wife got us tickets to see Victor Wooten at the State Room in Salt Lake City for tonight.

The only other time I've seen Vic live was in Anchorage (with the Flecktones) years ago.

What is appropriate? Would trying to get a photo with him be out of line? How 'bout bringing my Fodera for him to sign? Would that be inappropriate?

I just don't know what is and isn't okay and I don't have opportunities like this too often so I want to make the most of it.

Tom, Vic is very accessible. Getting a pic should be no problem. He would sign your bass, but why would you want him to?

I don't know! All I know is I'm going to see Vic tonight and I could hardly sleep last night! I just want to make the most of the experience, whatever that might entail.

I have a limited edition (7 of 9) Fbass BN6LE that is a replica of Alain Caron's and he signed it which I think is cool...

But my Fodera isn't a Victor Wooten signature, so it isn't the same thing... and it would be nice not to haul it around, but then again it would be cool to have it signed too.

I never figured out how logistically people actually do this.

Do they ask to musician if he/she will sign a bass... then run to the car to get it? Bring it into the gig? Have your wife put just the control plate in her purse (this is a good idea though, you're welcome!)

Cool idea, but seems like a royal P.I.T.A. To me.

Yeah, if you're going to have someone sign something, have them sign the control plate.

I didn't know what to do logistically either, but I like that control plate idea a lot. Thanks!

take off the pickguard and have him sign that. then you can save it by replacing or use it....he signed the back of the first 10 YYS. i replaced the preamp cover and keep it in the case.

I like to help the humans.

P.S. I love your bass. That is truly a unique Fodera!

Tom7, a couple things...

1. Vic is SUPER cool. He comes out after the show and will talk, sign, whatever.

2. I'm in love with your Fodera

That is all...

Thanks! This mere mortal truly appreciates your kind words about my bass. I LOVE it too.

Because of the finger ramp, removing the pick guard would be pretty involved, so for now I have the control cavity cover off and am thinking of having him sign the inside foil, although I'm still trying to come up with something else too.

Ideally, I would love the back of the headstock to have his signature, but I'm worried about hassle of having the bass around, and the possibility it could be stolen and someone else would be happily enjoying my signed bass.

Tom. I always go nuts over that fingerboard whenever I see it.
Were I to break into your house, however, I'd take one of the ... many fantastic F Basses that you have.

And I second the comments on Vic..and the whole band. I got to chat at length with J.D. Blair in Philly, and Ant is always cool to talk to. To be honest, I'd leave the control plate at home, and just go up and give him a big hug. Have a great time!

(email from Laura today...E5S, my Fodera #2, in the zone for next week!)
