I had a chance to play an older fretless Godin Acoustibass in a shop this summer. If the A4 is anything like that, and I think it is, it should be a great bass. I've played a few Squier fretless Jazz basses and they are ok but every one of them had a noticeably bowed neck and that made me leery of them. I know a truss rod adjustment might fix it but still.... Never touched one but the ESP B204 fretless sure is pretty! Glad to hear that their looks do not deceive. The fretless I ended up with is a used and somewhat beat up Fender Standard Jazz that I bought right here on the TB classifieds. It plays great! Now if only I could learn to play it in tune....

How much does this bass weigh?

If you're looking for upright sound. This maybe as close as you get while staying horizontal. Retail is about $1200 but I've seen them on ebay for about $700.

Maybe I just got a lemon, but I would avoid the squire vintage modified fretless. Although it is a good sounding bass, I've just never been able to get it set up properly. I have the neck relief how I want it but it still is to high. If I lower the bridge it buzzes. I've been setting up and playing basses for over 35 years and I can't seem to make this one right. Maybe set up for a fretless is different. I better be careful not to high jack this thread. I have noticed that folks aren't lining up to recommend this model.

For $600 you could find a used Warwick Corvette frettless. A great pro level bass. Way past a ESP or Squire. They are one of the best deals going out there now.
