Thanks. One neat aspect of Dymondwood is the availability of different colors. They sent Conklin a few misc. samples and we picked their "coco bolo" Dymondwood because it seemed to look right with bubinga.

I'm almost embarrassed to "show off" mine after seeing some of the basses you guys have posted, but here are my two...

Left: Ibanez SR1305PM Fretless. I don't know if it was made that way or if it was defretted by the original owner. I'm the 4th owner and the 2nd and 3rd didn't know the answer. Anybody?.

Right: SX SJB-62 4+1 fretless

That would make me number .......... ???

Sure, sign me up, gimme a number, whatever:

Note: that sunburst one is only going to be fretless for another week or two; I'm having Michael Dolan build a custom fretted 8-string neck to fit that body. But the Rob Allen is a keeper!

And a pictire of my big 4 string fretless.

My soon to be complete Sei Singlecut fretless 5 - macassar ebony facings front and rear (also on headstock front & rear), and the fingerboard is Macassar ebony also! (oh yeah, and the Musicman hardcase is merely there to place the bass on something rather than the floor for them to take the pics!!)

That bass looks freakin' AWESOME!

You must post pics when the build is complete. Any idea when that'll be?

I'm hitting London weeks commencing 7th and 14th January in the New Year, so I should get my grubby mitts on the Singlecut fretless then (hopefully!!)

Yup, haven't touched a fretted bass since I took the frets out of my first bass.

You just can't beat the singing tone of a Buzz. My Pentabuzz is so sick! It melts your face off when you hear it. I can't find my digital camera or I would upload a pic.

I've got a fretless Michael Kelly dragonfly coming on Friday! Used to have a fretless Spector NS2, walnut body, sweet sweet bass. Sold it when I quit playing for a while. Just picking the bass up again after many years. It is awesome to be playing again.

I agree. As I wrote elsewhere, I narrowed down my search for a new fretless to a Pedulla hexabuzz or an F-Bass AC6. I wish I had both, but that would be too hard to justify to myself, much less my wife.

I have a wishbass, it's pretty cool and I like the feel of a fretless.
