Haven't been here for a while (graduated and workaholism took all the time) but got my bass and started playing and remembered talkbass again. And when I came back I found this thread (have the clubmember number nine). Have to start reading (and playing of course) regularly again. What an awesome forum this is.

And here is the proof for the club, will have to get better pictures soon from both of my basses:

Perhaps another pic of the neck angled into backlighting would showcase the fretless sheen...

...just kidding.

It looks nicer in person than the photos can show. The finish is awesome. Quilted Maple top and back that has a black finish that fades from a dark grey in the middle to black on the edges, it is called Smokeburst.

The vine inlay is pretty cool too.

I defretted two of my basses. An Ibanez AEB5E electric-acoustic and an off-brand Jazz copy. Sorry about the picture quality, May I have a number?

So I am new to the fretless world and I am absolutely in love with the mwahh. This is my new baby, Suzy Creamcheese. She's a 98 Modulus VJ4 fretless with a John East preamp. Can I get a number please?

Here are my two. A Bass Collection with EMG P/J, passive VVT and a 3 way capacitor switch for the tone knob. And a U.S. G&L L2000 I just picked up last week for under $400 with a brand new neck made by a luthier in AZ.

Have any of you own a defretted neck, with block inlays? I'm curious to how that would look. I can't help but think it would look funky.. in a not so good way.

And this bass you have here.. the fingerboard inlays are pretty darn awesome. How does it play? I would be very tempted to want to string it EADGC.. or maybe DGCFA#

Thoughts? for the record I HATE the fake relicing on this, it's not even real relic it's like paint or something. It's a wilkinson vintage icon series fretless. cost me $400 new. It has a slim neck exactly like a Geddy Lee.

Here is a pic of my Mike Dirnt Squier P Bass that was converted to a fretless...it is currently seeking a new pickup. Good weight. Great neck (now that the so-so fret job has been eliminated), and super light strings.

Hopefully, this fretless can hold me over until I can find a mid nineties fretless jazz to match my fretted jazz.

Could I please have a club number?
