Happened in the RC hobby industry I used to work in.
Yes because as we all know, American companies wouldn't dare to rip off Fender left right and centre.

I hope they find some. I really want to take one of these basses for a spin.

By the way, is it just me, or do these Mighty Jazz models (as they are called) have deeper cut horns?

I'm thinking of buying a Jazz bass this year.

I want to get my hands on one of these before I decide to go Fender or Clone.

I bet the quality on these FGN is off the hook.

I'm só hoping that you're sarcastic too, cause I definitely was. Sorry. XD

Watch out FMIC! $1000.00 MSRP means street price between $700 and $800.
Japan currently makes the highest quality factory produced instruments in the world IMO...

Sure Fender is the benchmark in basses in terms of units sold, but surely you can come up with something more original than a revised scratchplate and headstock.

I would never ever buy something that would constantly remind me that it's a copy.

I should add IMHO, just in case I've upset anyone!

They copy those styles because its easier to sell a conventional looking instrument to a mass market. Especially for a new brand. If they were making radical shaped instruments it would be much harder to get a foot in the door so to speak.
These are superior quality instruments, I suspect that they will appreciate in value ( think 80's matsumoku ) and you will probably be seeing more variety in models. They currently only offer the Jazz bass style in different finishes. Hard to find still in the USA.
