G&L 2500 USA need advice on price ( or suggest a bass for me)

ok so i have been hunting the talk bass forums for the past couple weeks waiting for a used G&L l2500 usa model and have been failing miserably. i haven't found any at local guitar centers and i'm starting to lose patience. im not against buying new, but would prefer to buy used if possible.

i found one on ebay and was wondering if you guys could provide me with a little insight on this bass. it says it is new OTHER(see details) but the seller doesn't provide any details if there are any defects. http://www.ebay.com/itm/G-L-L-2500-U...item4170713a2c


also if any of you guys want to try and change my mind on what bass i should get, please do so. my budget is around 2k and im looking for a very versatile bass cause i play all genres. i like a somewhat tighter string spacing.

Looks beautiful; get it! These are about as versatile as anything, price is very good. The "other" looks like because it's a floor model, and being from 2002 probably looks a bit dull despite what he says but you've said that doesn't bother you.

It looks very clean, the text says "floor model" so that usually indicates light use. That's an older model, probably the first year or two after they went to the 3+2 headstock. I'd guess closer to 1998-1999 vs the 2002 they list in the text. The rounded bridge saddles were replaced with flatter saddles in 2000. Looks like a really nice one from the pics they show but who knows.

Looks like a decent price, seller has good feedback. For what it's worth, GC used has a green one for roughly the same cost. A little less, until you add taxes and shipping. Condition listed as "great". I'd get whichever one you like the color on.

Get the G&L and spend your other $1100 on other gear. By the way, neither looks to come with a case.
