Here's my '89 L2K. I actually used to think it was '99 model but finally researched it yesterday and discovered it was made sometime in 1989. So when I bought it in 2000, it was actually a decade-old NOS instrument, unbeknownst to me. So I'm actually rather proud that I own an actual -ish vintage Fender bass....

It's been highly abused to make it fit me over the years, mistreated with nut files on the bridge and a sanding block on the fingerboard to get rid of a ski-jump. I've removed the springs from under the neck PU to get it as far away from the strings as possible, it's now screwed down hard against the wood. The result is a near-perfect chocolate P bass sound when I solo the neck PU.

It's hard to see from the pics but it's well on its way to a good "relic" status with signs of distress and corrosion here and there....

Even so, it's worth less than matchsticks, but it's also still my main go-to bass for a Fender sound.

It has D'addario flats on it right now.

I got this real cheap because nobody wanted a 23 year old bass that was purple. Or is it?

Coincidentally, mine also developed a ramped fingerboard that needed leveling.

I dig that Butterscotch ASAT. Been thinking about getting one, probably next bass after an L2500.
