GAS OCD

In your opinion, is Gear Aquisition Syndrome, GAS and Obsessive Complusive Disorder, OCD....... pretty much the same thing?

No, technically it is "gluttony," which is the striving for more than you could reasonably need.

For me GAS is bankruptcy training... OCD is me staying up til 3AM arranging and re-arranging my pedal board so that all the foot-switch buttons line up in a straight line
