Lull, Lollar and Seymour Duncan come to mind, all much more expensive.

If you purchase a Thunderbucker I like the over wound '66 or the MAX. Another idea is to buy a cover off ebay, some guy in I think Gerrmany is selling covers and stuff that with a more modest priced pickup. The Dimarzio model one can be found on ebay for like 50 bucks.

Now, does the Epi and Gib use the same size pickup?

The New Epi bird I think you can drop right in, same for the USA Bird.
