Now, does the Epi and Gib use the same size pickup? | I used a Lull (which is very short in heighth) and it sat right over the existing route in the bridge position of my Epi. I just filled the cavity with foam and screwed it into place. The ring finished it off quite nicely. If Thunderbuckers are as short as Lulls, there should be no routing required.

The 1995 convention tour with Kiss doing a Q&A session before jamming to whatever the audience wanted to hear, they clearly were having a ball here. Gene is playing his Aria Cardinal bass here.

Never let 'understand the context of the post I'm quoting' get in the way of being over-zealous and patronising though. That seems to be what Talkbass is all about; "I play in a Praise 'n' Worship band, allow me to point out your flaws I perceive them".... ad nauseum. | Little late in my response, I stand corrected. Sorry, thought you were bashing Gene, reread and see now that I was wrong. Again I apologize, my bad. Used to people bashing Gene all the time.
Edit: been a few months since I piped in on my favorite thread.

Which no matter how you slice it is based on his old Spectors.

Gotta love Paul Stanley's "going to the gym after the show" look.
I remember exactly where I was when this aired. I was 12, and at a sleepover at a friend's house. We stayed up just to watch this, because my parents wouldn't let me. |

Anyway, I have seen many Kiss tribute band live and what most have in common is lack of intensity. With the opening song (which is almost always "Detroit rock city") in particular. It's always a case of "One two...errr..three." and doing the intro of the song slowly to match the speed of the recorded version. For some reason they hesitate to come out full force.
There are exceptions though, such as this Japanese Kiss tribute band who just went flat out, who cares about matching speed anyway? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VKApxwduPhM
And check out their "Gene" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KHeYQW6ewGs
