Then I shipped my neck on May 1st, and she's finally coming home.Should be home in a week!!! Haven't had a fretless for 4 months,
Here's the eye candy. The Fender Jaco Sig neck came from the factory very poorly shaped. Very poorly cut nut as well. I was very disappointed when I first got it. I almost sold it but now it's been re-planed and has a new nut. For some reason every Jaco bass Thor has received has come in like this. Bad for a bass that lists for $2399. |

| | | ABSOLUTELY STUNNING !
(and I'm sure, worth the wait) That's a work of art.

He was just mad because he stopped me illegally and I had all my paperwork in order.
The parking lot of the Days Inn on Gulf to Bay in Clearwater was filled with out of town police cruisers- that's one of the places the extra security is crashing.
Back on topic: Harris does fabulous work; you'll love that neck.

Back on topic, man I know. Been lusting for a Harris treated neck for years. I almost got a Joe Osborne Lakland fretless a while ago here a while back biut I moved too slowly. |

I couldn't wait through Thor's backlog, so I went local and had Brian Lewis do mine. I can't imagine being happier. This bass has my all-time favorite neck. Epoxy on a fretless Warmoth neck by Lewis Bass and Guitar

I was really close to going with somebody else but I figured I would wait anyway since I am perpetualy poor. I actually did my own back in '85 as a teen. I ripped the frets out of my 1983 Jazz bass during Live Aid. Started when Black Sabbath came on stage. I read the August 1984 Guitar Player cover story on Jaco like 20 times. Since I grew up in Florida it was easy to find Petit Poly Poxy epoxy that he used. I made a big mess of my poor fingerboard lol. That's cool, I may get a more modern bass to epoxy up (I had a Lakland 5501 that I recently sold and miss dearly) and may give your guy a try. |

I am sure you are much better off with a Warmoth. That's a beautiful bass...I am a sucker for Black and Maple. Check out my main fretted, a '77 Jazz with a maple neck and pearl blocks. |

The epoxy makes for quite a unique fretless tone. Incidentally, I felt like my bass was kinda lacking in the tone department with just the P-Bass pickup and found a nice black P-Bass body with a J route, slapped in a pair of Fralins, and it sounds beautiful. A poor fireman's Tony Franklin bass! |

I've wanted an epoxied board for a while now. I'm on the list with Thor, and he told me that the 2 year wait is more like a 4 year wait. He said that he needs to update the webpage.
I hope you enjoy. | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | |
