Gibson G3 vs. Peavey T-40

Which one would you get and why?

I own a G3, but I want to get a T-40. I like my G3 and I don't have particular need to get rid of it, but I want to get my hands on the T-40 and I have to get the money somewhere.

T-40's are a dime a dozen and a G3 is fairly rare.

A G3 is fairly light and a T40 is usually an 11-12lb monster.

I love both but the G3 is what I would keep.

+1 to everything here. The G3 is a very unique animal. The T-40 is as well, but it's also more common, and not as interesting IMO. I mean, to each their own, if you like the bass then go for it, but of the two I'd keep the G3. I barely play mine, but it's a great bass.

Id day the G3 was much better bass. Ther peavey T40 diodnt impress me when it was new. A friend had one, ok, but to heavy, not so good looking, and so so tone to me. The G3 was lighter weight, looked better and sounded better to me. The G3, ripper and Grabber where pretty popular with kids at school and in neghborhood that played bass.
