Gibson Grabber/Ripper/G-3 club

I have seen straight Gibson clubs and other model clubs but nothing that goes specifically to these 3 basses....

here are mine from the "old band pics" files...

ignore the white thing (it was only a may 62 jazz in oly white)

let's see these sweet Gibsons!!!!

(oh yeah, don't ask about the cape...i don't remember why!!)

Not just a cape, but a tin foil jacket.

Anyways, here's a few of mine, including the requisite live shot:

I do not think i have any of it by itself...i was so taken by the grabber and the G-3 that the Ripper very rarely was played...it was black/ebony...both it and the G-3 were stamped "second" on the back of the headstock.

ive got a grabber and a ripper. the grabber is presently out of action until i can get a stainless steel saddle made up for it (string snapping issue) and the ripper doesnt leave the house. its in perfect condition and i plan on keeping it that way so im currently stuck playing my fender p bass

How would you compare the tone of the G3 and the Grabber? When I got my G3 I was really looking for a Grabber, but it sounded awesome and the price was good so I bought it. I've never had a chance to really A/B the two and have always wondered.

What does that mean? I've been looking for an RD lately and seen it stamped on a few.
Great basses by the way! I love the style of these basses

It means it had a slight imperfection on the finish originally, but as a used bass makes little difference in it's value.

the Grabber is more fundamental and the G-3 gets a little different tone. It is like comparing a p and a j bass...

I kinda think gibson basses is an oxymoron but it is all cool! I like the tone and in the end isn't that what matters?
