A lot of Gibson bass designs have nasty neck dive.

I went to Bass pro shop and to my surprise they didn't have a single bass guitar.

Besides most every company makes atleast one body style avaliable for bassists and their 6 string bretheren.
On the hating Gibsons great for you, you don't like them. Atleast you know what you do like.

I feel they don't put much thought into their basses. (feeding to the stigma that a bass is just a guitar with two less strings)
Probably because im an Ibanez guy. You get an RG (guitar) and compare it to an SR (bass) and they're completely different. But Gibson don't really try to change a design (aside from the Tbird), an SG is an SG and a LP is an LP.
I didn't mean to taint the thread, sorry, just sharing an opinion carry on.

| | | | You guy's should try one before you comment. The necks on LPs are long scale and a bit chunky, but not baseball bat chunky. Actually when set up properly play really fast (for me). The pickup tones are excellent, really hot, high output. |

On the hating Gibsons great for you, you don't like them. Atleast you know what you do like. | First thing I thought was "I hope it's short scale." Looks nice anyhow. Too bad the neck's too long and too thick for me. Guess that's what the average bass player likes though, so maybe they'll sell better that way.
No point hating any instrument.. just don't buy it. Like most things, somebody, somewhere, will like it.
