Gibson Thunderbird Short Scale

Anyone ever played with this little sucker?

No, but - I do have an SG Reissue and from the sound-clips of the short TB that I've heard on YouTube, I've concluded that there's not a lot of difference between the TB and SG. Not enough to warrant a visit to the guitar shop.

Unlike the full-scale TB of course.

I have one, and like it a lot. What do you want to know?

Also have one.
It is probably my most comfortable bass. Neck is thin and fast. Pickups are deep and clear. Hardware is what one would expect from a Gibson. Balance is good, no neck dive.
The only complaint I have is the quality of the finish. But, it is the finish that they were going for. Just not what I want and am having it refinished Arctic white when I get the two that are out for paint and modding back. Just like the look of white T-Birds.
Have it strung with D'Addario tapewounds.
If I could only keep 2 or 3 of my basses, it would be one of them.

I agree with everything here, except that I like the satin finish. Very comfortable. I like it much better than the glossy finish on my vintage Thunderbirds.

Also, I use D'Addario EXL-160S 50-105 strings, because I wanted a higher gauge with the short scale. They are perfect for me.
