Gibson's new non reverse thunderbirds can look cool too.

I'm almost finished with this one....it really has that 60's vibe now....I just love nickel hardware on these.Click image for larger version

I used the factory pickups but stripped off the black plastic covers and replaced them with the nickel.

I'll take some more pics when I finish it up....I've just got to switch out some black screws for nickel and a couple other things.

These's are the coolest bass's. Beautiful job. Funny, i just recently stripped my epi reverse tbird of all the black hardware and went chrome. I have ivory emg's in it but wished it had the chrome/nickel pups like yours. I just picked up a bridge cover on ebay for it too.

Great job!

Getting the 2 piece bridge tailpiece, and chrome parts went a long way in bringing it back to a classic original look. And reversing the output jack and 3rd pot was an easy fix that corrected what i thought was one of the most bizarre looking arrangements on the new bass. What were they thinking? Now you're making me want to get one,so i will ask,how are the necks and the weight on these?

Wish Gibson would just make them look that way from the get go, and offer single pickup models.
