Is this a good deal?

This bass looks very tempting, but I am not familiar enough with the brand to determine if it is worth it. Is it?

Just looking at basscentral.com, it looks like they normally go for around $2500-3000 new. Never played a Roscoe, but I believe they have a good following here on TB.

Yes, but maybe they have a Warwick thing going on where the resale value is ridiculously low.

$1800 is a very good price on a Roscoe.

cfsporn 11-30-2012 12:14 PM

What are Roscoes like anyway? What are their neck profiles? How do they sound?

lowfreq33 11-30-2012 12:14 PM

Roscoe's hold their value pretty well as they're not mass produced. Not only is that a good deal, it looks fantastic.

It does look quite nice. I wonder if it is 34 or 35 inch scale. Not that it matters too much on an unlined fretless.

It's a Roscoe LG 3005. That's a very good price. The used value will hold. Roscoes have one of the best B strings around, tight and fat, the tone is warm and very full. Think P-bass kicked up a notch or 2 and the necks are slim and very fast. If you're looking for a fretless 5 that you'll want to keep playing, then this would be a smart purchase.

Nice plank!

Probably a 35" scale. Keith will only make a 34" on special orders.

Sweet. My Spector has gotten me very interested in extended scale basses.

I would grab it if it speaks to you. Worst case you could flip it on here and maybe even MAKE a few buck.

That price is GREAT! If it was fretted & I had the money, it would be MINE!

I'm going to see it on Monday! :bassist:

I have a fretted LG 3005 and it is my main weapon and it will be for a long time. If I had the money, I would get a fretless as well to have an amazing pair and I would be set for life.

What is the default pickup/preamp combo on these basses? I think the pups are Bartolinis which I usually don't like, but I have read many posts that talk about the huge differences between "fake" Barts and "real" Barts.
