| | Registered User | | | | | Good deal on a Blue Burst Rickenbacker? I have a chance at a 2007 Ric 4003 Blue Burst at $2499 in the USA. Serial # 0711550. It needs a setup pretty bad.
Is this a:
1. bad price
2. fair price
3. good price
4. great price
Thanks for your opinions!

IIRC, Blue Burst is a rare color though, so I can see it getting more money.

You should be able to nab one of those under $2000 for sure, probably even lower than that. If they're not willing to negotiate, I'd look elsewhere. If the colour really is what makes it for you, hold out and be patient; another will come along. It always does

The completed auctions on Ebay only show 30 days of data so it can fluctuate higher and lower than real market value especially when there are only a few samples.
Thanks for the input, folks, I will pass on this deal.

I went to Bass pro shop and to my surprise they didn't have a single bass guitar.

I'd certainly pass at that price. |

However, I will defer to Ric owners with more experience on the subject - I play 'em, but I don't buy them all that often..
Let me add, however, that I passed up a CS (Chris Squire) back in '93 because I didn't want to fork over 2 grand......I'm STILL kicking myself in the ass over that one....

I was under the impression that "Blueburst" was the color of the year in 2005 but this bass (in question) was built in 2007...
Did Ric (apparently so) continue building Blueburst models after 2005?????? Like I said, I'm confused - which would make sense with the lack of sleep recently....

| | Registered User | | | | | I looked up the serial number, it was made in the 11th week of 2007.
If it is a refinish it is a fine job. I've never seen a real Blueburst up close so I couldn't say for sure.
