hagstrom ii

Hagstrom2 has two headstocks. I wondered when they changed. The one I am looking to buy has the one that looks like a Fender.

The one with a 2x2 headstock is the HIIBN - and has humbuckers. IIRC there was a little crossover, the first HIIBN was a 1969, the last HIIB was a 1970. I'll double check in the hagstrom book.

They are both nice, but I prefer the HIIBN simply because it has four pots rather than the unreliable switches.

That sounds right. My '65 was the Fender style headstock. Good Switchcraft (silver plated contacts) slide switches, cleaned periodically, solved my headaches with the original switches.
