Just so that we're clear... these are the companies that Warwick has "borrowed" inspiration for its designs from.

Was your comment a suggestion that the Ibanez design in this thread was a borrowed design from Warwick?

If so, I find it rather interesting that you'd think anyone has borrowed anything from them... especially Ibanez, who has a very long history of innovative and original designs (since the 1950's).

I have nothing but respect for Ibanez's CEO, Mr. Toshitsugu Tanaka, whose reputation for integrity is well-established.

Just keeping it real.

And defending Ibanez. It's an insult to suggest that they'd "take a swing a Warwick" when in fact Warwick is the biggest swinger in the bass guitar marketplace today.
Funny...first word that popped in my head when I saw this bass was "Spector". Aside from the derail though, I had a chance to jam on one of these (when the batteries weren't dead) when I first started playing. It was what I thought was the pinnacle of bass awesomeness at the time...

Take a Google search of the history between Warwick and Spector.

You can add Alembic to that list (Stryker)
The most ugly part is that if somebody (Status) "takes a swing" at a "HPW design" it seems like the end of the world and we're denied one of the most awesome basses that Entwistle played.

Sorry rants over, had to get that out

Nice Ibanez btw
I did a gig with one of those a long time ago (friend of mine had one) Played very nice and great sound.

I owned the m888 bean bass, neck thru body, much like a mini musician.
that bass unfortunately was stolen from a gig I did back in 89'.
the bass was destined to be stolen, played a gig in Hamilton, On. the year before and caught the DJ of the club trying to steal the bass.
Apparently, lots of gear from other bands that played this certain club had been stolen from there.
Pretty cool little bass though.
