There's a pre-EB Musicman Sub bass for sale on CL for $470. Just thought I'd let you guys know, because it seems like a pretty good deal, although I don't know what these usually go for. I am not the seller...just feel that needs to be said.

I saw that today... If I was not having a custom bass built right now I would be all over it!

Nice find.

I never liked the Sub series. Maybe it was the goofy pick guard paired with the matte finish, but I could never get into it.

A "pre-EB" Sub? I wasn't aware of such a thing. The only Subs I've heard of where the lower priced line of Ernie Ball MMs and the only pre-EB basses I'm aware of are the Stingray, Sabre and Cutlass models. Is there a story here that I haven't heard?

phoenix.craigslist.org/evl/msg/3492226971.html let me know if the link doesn't work, but it's not one of the new S.U.B basses it appears older especially given the old MM logo. I think I saw a bass just like this(same model) pass through here on TB. I'll see if I can find it

Ah. Sorry to bother you. I was hoping hear about an obscure MM model that I wasn't previously aware of.

That one listed is definitely a Ernie Ball-era Sub.

It's a USA SUB 4.
Great bass for the money but that is about the going price for them.
I like mine better then a SR4. Love the 2 band.
It is the same bass as a Stingray classic without the fancy paint.
Any SR4 pick guard fits it and if the paint bothers you, you can send it out and have it painted and still be under $800 for a killer bass.

Don't confuse the USA SUB's with the cheap new ones.
