Help with a "Custom Shop" Jazz neck

I am looking at purchasing this Jazz bass neck. It is marked "Custom Shop Deluxe" on the headstock and looks to have a few custom shop stickers on it as well as the makers name (I guess). Sorry, I was not sent a photo of the back of the head stock. Would anyone have any thoughts on if this is a real Fender Custom Shop neck. My knowledge is pretty minimal so any help would be great.

Thanks

Help with a "Custom Shop" Jazz neck

The two stickers made in USA and is it custom Shop deluxe look like they've been added later and are not like the other decals. The large slab of rosewood make me think it is a 1961-4 reissue neck. Clearly the date stamp is clear. I'm not sure whether green is the right colour or not!

Help with a "Custom Shop" Jazz neck

I thought custom shop necks have the truss rod adjustment at the heel( 70's bullet truss notwithstanding). I could be wrong, though.

EDIT: The "custom shop" sticker on the side of the neck heel also hangs past the end of the heel, and those look like MIM tuners. I also second that the "custom" sticker under the Fender logo looks like it was placed there at a later time.

I'm pretty sure you are right, the "Custom Shop" and "Made in USA" look like they were added after someone sanded off the M serial # and "made in mexico"

Everything about that neck screams Mexico! It looks like every Custom shop logo and the "Made in U.S.A." decal were added later. A Custom Shop neck would never come with those tuners either.

clearly a fake. the custom shop would put that Fender logo on the headstock. the custom shop always has their logo proudly displayed on the back of the headstock.

Wow, I am amazed at the knowledge on TB. You guys just saved me $350 (which I thought would be a steal for a CS neck). It looked pretty fishy to me too but I thought I would check. Thanks so much for your responses.

Wow, that's the most terrible and obvious fake that I've ever seen. What the heck was someone thinking to put a colorized Custom Shop logo on the side of the neck heel?!

Yeah, I don't think Fender has a Mexican custom shop, lol. Please report that listing wherever it is posted. Someone is going out of their way to screw somebody here.

The neck isn't posted for sale online but it was offered to me by a local tech/repair guy as a "custom shop" neck. I would have thought he would know better but maybe not.

Right, that's not a CS neck. you can also ask fender (from the fender web site) if they ever made a "custom shop deluxe" ...I don't think so.

I also don't think I'd be bringing anything to that "tec/repair" guy.......
