I'm almost convinced to get a Schecter, does anyone have recommendations on a good one? The stilettos seem nice, I think I also like the Diamond-P. Since I am quite familiar with Schecters I don't know the difference between their models that includes the studio and extreme series.
The difference between the stiletto extreme and the studio is the electronics, bridge and finish. The studio has EMG electronics, a fancy bridge and a satin finish where the extreme has Schecter electronics, high mass bridge and a very thin poly finish.
Some people dont like the EMG electronics that come in the studios. I like the sound of my extreme tons. It's actually my only instrument that has remained stock since I got it.
Edit: And these are really tough basses. Mine has been through a lot but still looks pretty good (aside from the back) and nothing has broken yet.
That diamond P will have more mid range bite than the stiletto line due to the natural tendency of the P pickup to have a mid range hump. Soap bars haves pretty smooth sound with some sizzle on the bridge pickup.
