(Sacred Reich) Been on a 90s metal kick today, and while watching some Sacred Reich videos I noticed something cool. Phil's bass appears to be a Fender Precision, but he's got dual humbuckers instead of a split-coil.
A subsequent google image search was unable to turn up a real clear image, but it almost like a G&L body with a Fender neck. I didn't know this was possible. Here's a link to the video: Sacred Reich - The American Way
Here's some stills from the video, lower left hand pic:

| | | | My bass in the American Way video The bass is a G&L I bought from Jason Newsted when he was in Flotsam. We put an unfinished maple Warmoth Jazz bass neck on it. I like jazz bass necks. That neck is on the bass I play now, an old 70's p-bass I bought in a pawnshop re-painted and put some emg's in. My other bass is a swamp ash Warmoth p-bass body with the unfinished maple jazz neck and seymore duncan p/j pick ups. I prefer the duncans to the emg's. All basses were built by Rich Beck in Tempe AZ. I hope this clears it up. |

I used to have one of the G&L SB-2 JJ and had to sell it to pay medical bills. That's the one bass I sold that I miss the most. If you ever find one, snag it! They sound incredible!!
This was mine:
