Help: Trimmer function on a Bartollini preamp of a 1990 Warwick Thumb NT6?
I have a 1990 Thumb NT6 with the original Bartollini electronics. It's a second hand instrument I've been ownig for years but never had a manual etc. Just looking the inside electronics, I found that the preamp has a trimmer. I don't know the model of the preamp.
Can anybody say what is the function of this trimmer? thanks!
If similar to most other Bart pre's (not sure about the really old ones), that trim pot should be an output level adjustment for the preamp.
Very nice, since you can match the basses output to your other instruments, or match to the passive output if you have a bypass switch, or optimize the output of the bass to work best with the gain structure of your amp, etc.
that old it could also be a TCT and the little trim a control for the mid frq (?)
wait, just saw the pic. It looks exactly like my old '89 STII. I'm pretty sure it is not a bartolini preamp, but that trim it is indeed a master gain level ctrl
