Hi and hello

Hi Guys,

I am new to this forum and site and i have just today bought a Epiphone Bass I am pleased with the sound and feel and I just wondered if this is a good bass as far as basses go.

It didnt cost me a fortune but it is weighty I have found after 2 hours of playing and my tips are on fire.....

Im just a lightweight.

I am gonna try to up a picture I cant find a review for this one online anywhere its like a sunburst but not a cherry if you know what I mean.

Welcome! Epiphones can be fine basses certainly far better than I started off on!

I just sold an Epiphone Allen Woody bass and wish I hadn't. I played out with it for about 5 years, recorded 2 records with it. Epi's can be great. If you like it than that's all that matters, right?

Welcome to Talkbass.

Nice bass. Good looker. What model is it? Appears quite nicely built.
My first was an Epiphone Rumblekat. Excellent bang for the buck.

Nice LP bass. I brought one back from the grave like it. If it's a little high you can have someone do a setup or check out this site and there are several good instructions on doing your own setups. This can help with the playability.

You played it 2 hours your first day. That's a good sign it's a good bass You really have to search to find bad basses these days. Even the drop dead beginner stuff isn't horrible, and Epiphone is a midline brand, so you're in good shape.

My first bass was a Epiphone EB-3. Welcome to the bass world and enjoy your nice new piece of wood.

Welcome aboard and congratulations on your new bass. I dig the color and the neck with the inlays. Rock it hard !

Thanks to all the welcome messages......I really appreciate it I will have a look around thanks to all.

The model is supposed to be a Epiphone Les Paul Special and thats what it says on the nut cover but they only come in Cherry burst and the black black black model ^^

So I am not sure exactly what model it is as the nut cover may be wrong and also the knobs seem to be from another bass to...

Any ideas or if anyone has seen one of these like this before let me know.

I found this on a dealer site in Australia. http://www.guitar.com.au/guitars/bas...ul_special.htm

Looks the same as yours. And is listed as a LP Special as well.
