After spending a lot of time and money on basses, i think it's time to take the right direction.
I want to buy THE Jazz Bass that will fits my needs.
But i don't know which one to choose. So i need your help.
Here is my specifications:
- light Alder body, rosewood fb with pearl block inlays
- 60s pickup position
- 10 or 12 radius
- medium size frets, not small vintage
- active/passive with a true passive tone control and 2 band EQ
- single coil pickups
- a sound between vintage and modern, round, clear and growly. Not mids shy.
- a perfect neck with a possible incredibly low action
- classic JB look
- $2500 max, new or used
Any suggestions?
Thanks |

So...used Lakland JO w/ your choice of preamp.
Sadowsky definitely makes a nice bass too.

I own one like that, and another that's ash/maple/'70s position. They're excellent basses.
Except for being '70s position, a Carvin SB5000 fits the bill, too--and they go for very attractive prices used. Check the review in a recent issue of Bass Gear. |

For now my choice is a Sadowsky Metro RV4 or MV4, but I have to try one not far away from me. |
