The Icon Club fits fine, if a little loosely, but the case seems well padded with a storage pouch outside, handles and backpack straps. For the price, it'll certainly do. |

| | | If you are still looking for a case for the hofner club bass, this one fits: http://www.samash.com/p/Gator_Hard%2...Case_-49951893
It's pretty snug depth-wise, but the padding over time will conform to the shape and it won't be so tight. They had about 10 of them at the Sam Ash here (Indianapolis). I tried all of them and found the one that was the least snug, FWIW. They were all pretty close, but one felt like a little less pressure. Length wise and shape wise, it's a PERFECT fit.
BTW, I've never posted in the forms before today, but I have done MANY google searches including "site:talkbass.com" over the years and have gleaned tons of great information :-) |

Wish I could try one out before purchasing though...since some of them were a little snug....I'm in Canada so I have to pay shipping and duty and if it's too snug then I waste more $$ returning it.....were some of the ones you tried TOO snug?

| | | | RockAndRollVintage doesn't have them in stock and can't get them, just like everyone else. If you call them they will tell you they can get them toward the end of the year, but I suspect the reality is that no one knows when they will be available. Plus, the real hofner case, while I'm sure it's nice, is more expensive by about $50. If I had a more expensive hofner then maybe that would be OK, but not for a $350 instrument.
Regarding the snug-ness of these cases, I think I would have bought any of the ones they had if they only had that one. There is a piece of foam padding on the lid that presses against the bridge, but on mine it has pretty much conformed to the bass ( after a few days) and the lid is within about an inch of closing without force. It takes very little force to get it closed all the way (not much more than just laying my hand on it).
Even if you get it and you feel there is too much pressure, I wouldn't think it would be too hard to modify it like someone suggested doing with the epiphone case. |

They list them as "in stock" for 63.00 EUR, on their Website.
Shipping is 30.00 EUR to the States.
So, at current exchange rates with shipping it's around $116.
With customs/duty fees, it would likely still be around $130, about the same as R&R Vintage has them listed for.

It might be a bit more flexible....all depending on the padding of course......maybe I should just have a shop near me order one and see if it fits.....

| I got the Hofner case from them a few months ago, I think in September. Don't know if they still have them in stock but they did then, with shipping it was around $150 or so. Whether it's worth the price is up to you but it was for me since I like the bass enough to keep and now I can take it out and gig it.

$89 with free shipping in the US. Dunno about Canada. Sam Ash does international shipping. I'd think you'd be able to find the case at a retailer in Canada. http://www.samash.com/p/Epiphone_E94...Case_-49996478

| | | I was very fortunate to buy my new Hofner Icon Club Bass off a dealer on Ebay in summer 2011, with the H64VB2 Hofner Case included, for $400 total. And the bass is one of only 40 made with a Black Cherry burst finish - the prettiest bass I own. Excellent craftsmanship and plays beautifully - crafted in Indonesia. The tone is exceptional as well. The seller is 92seville, or http://myworld.ebay.com/92seville/?_trksid=p4340.l2559 on ebay. You might be lucky to get a case from him. This site says their in stock: http://www.rocknrollvintage.com/prod...?prod=H64%2FCB
Caveat folks: the case fits great, but it smelled like vinyl, quite strongly, smelling up the front room for many months. The smell tapered off over the months and is gone now. My Les Paul guitar had the same issue - sometimes the paints etc take time to cure. Great case though.
