How many basses do you use

I use on a regular basis 2 basses, a Ibanez srx2ex2 and a fender jaguar bass. The reason I use these is because of the AMAZING Duncan designed pickups on the fender jag and the 2 band active EQ on the Ibanez. So when i just want a passive jazzy tone I use my Jag and when i want the bass boost i use my Ibanez.

I use my Spector Euro 5LX for most things that I want to sound great and look respectable.
Very often I want to color outside the lines so out comes the Ibanez with the green strings and whammy bar.

Five or so most of the time, but all 17 have been to gigs and go occasionally.

Usually stick to either the Jaguar or the fretless P.

One 70s P for the last two years. Couldn't be happier.

I only have one bass, its a p. Its always the one I play out, practice on, jam on and play acoustically around the house on.

When I'm tired of the p tone, I mess my amp settings up to sound awful. I then play for awhile.. after a few days of this awful tone, the p sounds awesome again!

I voted 1 because I use my Vigier Passion bass >90% of the time.
Sometimes the track really calls for a P/J-bass with flats so I'll break out the old MIA Fender Prodigy, Seldomly I'll Break out The Warwick but all I really need is my one main bass.

Ditto. And anyone who says otherwise isn't telling the truth.

I sold all my 4-strings and moved entirely to 5'ers.

My EBMM SR5HH is fretted, and Warmoth is now building me a Deluxe5 fretless P/BigSplit.
Both are 17.5mm spacing for a common feel between the two.

I play mostly on keys, some banjo and some lap steel.
It's a lot of junk to haul, so two basses are sufficient.

I take two to most gigs: a Lakland Duck Dunn with rounds and a Fender Am Std P Bass with flats. I have numerous others I've picked up over the years and most of them get periodic playing time at home.

I own a Traben Array 4 Made in Korea as well as a mostly new (5 months) Sterling by Musicman Ray34. I almost never play my Traben and may sell it to maybe fund a new bass. In my ideal world I only need two basses at one time, a Ray and a P bass beater of some sort.

play 2, own 2. my nice bass is a cort a4. its in the living room and gets played most. my second bass is an ibanez gsr200, its in the bedroom. i use it when im trying to figure stuff out because its tuned to regular E (my cort likes Eb). i also use the ibanez when my 1 year old is on the loose. im kinda GASing for something with an extended range. maybe a 6er

Same here. I practice with an Acoustic Dean and gig with my 2 Peavey Foundations. In the past I gigged with 2 similar Ibanez basses.

I have recently thinned the heard and I am down to 5 basses total.
