How much does an Epiphone Jack Casady weigh?

I've always fancied one of these basses for something a bit different to add to my collection and I've heard they are reasonably light-weight. Due to a bad back and shoulder injury I am looking to find a light-weight gigging bass to replace my Fenders (which I will still use for recording whilst sitting) I can't try one out before I buy but if I can find out from you guys what they weigh, I'll know if I can handle one.
I've done alot of research and realise they are neck-heavy so if I order one online I would go for hipshot ultralite tuners to help the situation plus the hipshot 3-point bridge upgrade at the same time (for more acurate intonation).
I do all my own set up work and repairs so I'm confident on taking the online buy-before-you-try gamble (mostly!)

Hope you guys can help me on this one.

cheers,

Miles.

Look at Sweetwater.com in their guitar gallery. They've got six of them in stock right now (2 gold and 4 black) and they list their weights.

Edit: I just looked and it seems they varied between 7lbs 14oz to 8lbs 6oz.

Thank you so much for your input guys, that was what I was hoping to hear. If I can get one to weigh in at under 8lbs I'll be very happy (and so will my back!)

Cheers for taking the trouble,

Miles.

I recently saw Jerry Watts playing a Jack Casady bass. He played everything from greasy Memphis blues to a sweet Jazzy duet with his wife. Great tone, of course anything he plays would probably sound great.

Good chance you will. Mine weighed under 8 lbs (on a digi postal scale). Sold it, now I miss it ().

So I just snagged another one today on ebay. I'm hoping for another feather weight!

To me, the real issue with these basses was ergonomic. It is a little awkward to play depending on your style. If you want it to play like a Fender style, it won't. It put my right wrist at an awkward angle (caused by the sharp edge not allowing my arm to comfortably rest there), which I think could cause problems down the road if you play it for extended periods. I play with very little wrist break in either hand, which has allowed me to play for over 40 years without any issues.

If you are wanting something light my Schecter Stilletto Custom 4 weighs just under 7 pounds, is perfectly balanced, thin neck, looks and sounds great. I used to use a Punisher and Precision and neither of those EVER sees the stage anymore. My shoulder and back thanks me every night. JFTI

Am I the only one that thinks that this is not very light weight for a semi-hollow instrument? Look at home many solid body basses weigh in the 8lb range (or less):

i read the last post and i guess IS a little heavy, but the sound...the sound....the sound is phenomenal and the electar pick ups are loud.

i got one for my son who had a couple of old hagstroms at the time. he swears the electar pick ups on the Casady are louder and clearer than the pick ups on the hagstroms. that is saying a lot. my understanding is that it is the top of epiphone's line and to get ours away from us, you would have to pry it from my son's cold, dead hands...

I've played a couple and between 7 and 8 pounds sounds accurate, great basses that I shouldn't have passed on.

Well there are certainly many lighter semis out there, especially the violon-esque ones.

My latest Casady arrived today, it weighs 7 lbs, 14 oz. Anything under 8 lbs is a feather to me, so I'm happy with the weight.

My MG one is only 7 lbs, 7 oz. Lightest bass I have ever owned.

my sunburst casady is a bit under 8 lbs as well. i wear it a bit lower than my pbass to help with the wrist angle.
