I hate to fuel the fire here, but after much anticipation I received my new Cherry Gibson Thunderbird from Musician's Friend yesterday, and not only was the bridge pickup hanging loose, there was one other problem that was quickly apparent.

I could have cried.... There is some orange peel on the body around the bottom of the fretboard, but I can deal with that. I just can't see how this got by Gibson. It was in the stock Gibson cardboard box with tape that said "Security Tape" on it that was still intact, so it obviously came from the factory like this. Kudos to Musician's Friend for helping rectify the situation.
