Yeah my 76P shows absolutely no sign of age. The only ageing is on the maple neck around the edges.

Depends on how thick the poly is. My 08 Am std dinged so easily if you looked at it wrong or if you carry it in a gig bag. After playing it for a couple of years, the finish wore down around where the body and arm rubs.

thats the one thing i hate about my 90s stingray ...the poly finish is so thick that it looks like it was vacume packed in black plastic ...and then i dinged it and got these long cracks running through the finish like it was made of glass.

i think im going to strip it and refinish in nito ..same colour black.

Do you have a pic? Would be interesting to see how those new Fenders with the thin coat wear.
