I call *FAKE!*

http://www.ksl.com/?nid=218&ad=22928758&cat=63

First of all, a Fender for $200? I'd be interested if it were real...

I don't see a serial number, or a Fender neck plate, and the position of those tuners (look at the back of the neck)... seriously bad!

Am I correct, or am I missing a deal?

Just look at the Fender decal. This is obviously fake. A Squier if you're lucky.

2+2 tuners on a 4-in-line headstock. Weird.

it's a Squire Affinity.. the way you can tell is where the tuners are placed on the headstock..

Not "deal of the century"! Would you feel better if he had said "Fender-style bar bass for sale"? Which is what it is. It's simple. If it has a reasonable tone, and the neck feels reasonably good to play, and it doesn't look too bad at a distance (in stage lighting), it's a reasonable bar bass. If it doesn't do all of those things then it's an over-priced project parts bass.

You are asking the wrong questions about this bass.

the decal is pretty bad...it would just need to say "Fernder" to put it over the top...

Looks REALLY light, though. Look at that one picture, it's literally FLOATING OUT SIDEWAYS. That's worth $200 in my book

I always think to myself, What if the person selling it was the one who got tricked and really has no idea it is a fake. THAT's got to suck as well!

Of course it's real. If you had read any of the "decal" threads, you would know that if a person puts on a Fender decal, he will never sell it; and if somehow he does sell, he will always disclose to the buyer that it is not really a Fender.

Specifics? My untrained eye only sees a decal that says "Fender Precision Bass" on a Fender-shaped headstock attached to a P-bass shaped body with a split pickup.

The ad has a link to click if you suspect the listing...did no-one do that yet? Or was it lost in the rush to be indignant on TB?

BTW....the link doesn't like us Limey's reporting in

The guy says on another one of his ads ("more ads by seller" --> http://www.ksl.com/index.php?nid=218...&lpid=&search= ) that he used to customize guitars and basses, you can even see Strats-like with decals and some without decals...

Just tell him to say in his ad that it's an old P-like he customized many years ago and all will be fine... I guess
