I like black basses, and I can't deny...

Last night, I realized that I have somehow amassed six black basses. I may have a problem.

These are the ones in current heavy rotation. From the left:
Dean Edge 8-string (really a good instrument, at a low cost)
Warwick Corvette Standard (wonderful)
Spector Rex Brown (with a Nordstrand in the neck position, no bridge pup, and an Aguilar OBP-1 preamp. Killer.)
Kramer 350B (heavily modified - walnut top, EMG HB pup, Hipshot bridge)

At home, a trusty old home-made P Bass and a Sterling SUB.
Is there a support group for this affliction?

Where I come from, we like to call that a fetish.

Black is beautiful !

"Let's see, what to take to the gig......... I could go with the black one. Or I could go with that black one. No.......that won't work. I know ! I will take the black one that I haven't played in a while, and a black one as a back-up."

My '87 Jazz Bass Special is black all over except for the back of the neck and headstock. So much so that I thought about putting a pickguard on and changing the hardware so I can even see the damn thing. All the hardware is black on it. I guess it's cool, though, in an evil kind of way, lol.

I haven't owned a black bass since my first '77 Pbass I bought new from Manny's in NYC in 1977 when I was 13 years old. I sure wish I still had THAT one.

I do realize I'm in a minority here, but I truly detest black basses. Always have. I have one right now, a Gibson Thunderbird SS, that is eagerly awaiting a refinish to become a valued member of society.

Sorry, given to absurd moments of mediocre verbosity.

It was always my dream to have a black bass, black satin finish on the neck, black hardware, dr black beauties and black frets.

Alas I don't think I will get that last one.

Although I don't own one, the Jupiter is probably my favorite bass design by Jens Ritter, in this exact Piano Finish.

I like black basses too. 10 out of 11 of my basses are black. The only reason one isn't black is because i couldnt find a black cigar box haha

I don't like them either, but still have a few, including a nice Peavey Foundation that I did ALL black, including hardware and strings. You can't even see it in the shade!

I think that black may be one of the most common colors, so the odds of one for sale being black are higher.

The rear shot of that black......

...... ah never mind. People are too sensitive these days.

Nice bass. I'll leave it at that.
