I played Some Reverends.

I rarely start a thread about a bass I played but I've been wanting to check out some of the new offerings from Reverend and I got that opportunity yesterday, I checked out three models, all 4 strings. The Decision,Thundergun and the Dub king.

What really blew me away was how awesome and very even they all sounded unplugged, the overall response what a breath of fresh air, I was really really impressed, so since I had some time to kill I decided to finally give these new models from Reverend a spin. The construction of all three models and attention to detail were second to none, so much so that it really puts some of the higher costing brands to shame. All three basses sounded great and played very well and they all seem to have no problem getting all types of tones out of them. I have always thought the first offerings from Reverend sounded and played well and I can say with certainty that the new offerings from Reverend will not be a let down.

I concur, J - having just bought a new Thundergun, it's well on its way to becoming my primary stage instrument. Great sound, fit and finish...and light.

I've never played one, but i've heard nothing but good things. They make some nice guitars too...

That DubKing is a beautiful looking instrument.

Reverend guitar necks are something really special...feel nice and broken in, stock. I've yet to try their basses...

Yes, I forgot to mention how light they are and they didn't sound light at all.

I've always loved their playability and also their resonance. The sound kills on a gig. I don't have a bass now but I have a guitar downstairs that's vaguely Tele shaped with 2 TV Jones pickups. Man, it weighs very little and it SINGS!

Didn't know they started making basses again until I saw this thread. I always wanted one, but they got out of the bass business before I was able to get one. Those 5er's look awesome!

I liked it, it had a nice warm sound but not a dead sounding warm but I'm sure flats would give that extra dead sound. And when I would dig in I could get some nice even snappiness out of it and when I slapped and plucked it, it was very lively. Overall I thought it was a very nice sounding bass and I'm sure in the studio it would shine even more.

It's made over seas but the quality is some of the best I've seen US or overseas built.
