I also have an Ibanez Rickenfaker. It was my first bass, and my only bass for many years.
While my Ibanez is a good bass, nicer than a lot that I've played, each and every Ric I've owned has blown it out of the water. This is not "hating on" the faker.
What's funny about this thread is that it brought out all the Ric-bashers, who are fulfilling all the negative stereotypes of the Ric-lovers who were supposed to descend on this thread like angry and illogical jackals.
Oh, and to the guy who thinks Rics are too expensive: you can definitely get a used Ric for a grand or under if you look hard and are patient -- especially if you plan to replace some of the parts anyway. |

I had the chance to buy one like that and passed on it.....and it was only a couple hundred bucks....back in the day when a 10 year old Ric was just an "old" bass......I could just kick myself for not buying it!

It was "color of the year". Not available before or since. |
