I have a Rickenbacker and I think your bass is just fine. So, I guess that means I'm not a "Rickenazi".

I am a Ric fan. I have owned maybe 10 Rics at some point.

I also have an Ibanez Rickenfaker. It was my first bass, and my only bass for many years.

While my Ibanez is a good bass, nicer than a lot that I've played, each and every Ric I've owned has blown it out of the water. This is not "hating on" the faker.

What's funny about this thread is that it brought out all the Ric-bashers, who are fulfilling all the negative stereotypes of the Ric-lovers who were supposed to descend on this thread like angry and illogical jackals.

Oh, and to the guy who thinks Rics are too expensive: you can definitely get a used Ric for a grand or under if you look hard and are patient -- especially if you plan to replace some of the parts anyway.

As much as a desire an authentic Ric...or 3......I'd be all over that in a minute!

You have a disco blue Ric!!! The one on the far right, I have not seen one like that since the late 80's or early 90's! I had the chance to buy one like that and passed on it.....and it was only a couple hundred bucks....back in the day when a 10 year old Ric was just an "old" bass......I could just kick myself for not buying it!

The color of the Rick on the right is called "Blue Boy" it was only offered in 2004. It was "color of the year". Not available before or since.

Very cool! Nice collection of Rics there. You don't see too many Blue Boys. That JB is quite infamous! I've never seen a photo of one, just read about them.

Ibanez 2388B

my '75 Ibanez 2388B Rickenbacker 4001.
All the guys were playing Fenders - I needed something different

[

The sound is more Rickenbacker than the pickups would make you believe. Construction and detail down to the checker binding is spot-on

looks EXACTLY like mine, I was told it was Ibanez, but it had a faked truss rod cover on it, no way to tell. I LOVE mine, use it all the time! it's PERFECT!
