Ibanez 506 vs peavey grind

I'm looking into a six string bass, and I'm very new to this. (greetings from the DB side!) I have found an ibanez 506 and a peavey grind 6 string used for the same price. Any thoughts on which is more preferable? If it helps any, ill be doing everything fron church music, jazz soloing and chords and standard rockband stuff. Thanks in advance for any thoughts!

I really liked the Peavey when I looked at one. Didn't end up getting it but I really liked it. I don't really think you can go wrong with either bass.

Never heard of the Grind, but the 506 is constantly lauded as one of the best beginner 6ers you can buy for the price. I owned one for a year and it served me very well.

I like both the Ibby 506 and Peavey Grind but felt that the Peavey Grind suited me better. It felt more solid and refined, I like the looks of it more and it's passive. Just a great well rounded bass.

I own an SR505 and played an Sr506 yesterday at the music store. Love them! Played a Grind about a year ago and wasn't all that impressed with the tone.
btw I play my SR505 at church too, but I wouldn't hesitate to use it on a rock, country, jazz or R&B gig either.
IMO get it!

I'd take the Grind myself. Not a fan of SR's.

Not that it matters all that much but the Peavey basses IMO have the worst looking headstocks.

I like Ibanez SR 6's but keep an eye out for a Carvin as well. they sometimes go for cheap if you keep watching out for them.

I tired to find you a larger image suitable as wallpaper but this is best I could do for you.

I guess it's not as bad as I thought it was.
