I have an L2000 Tribute and an ATK750 (5way switch, instead of volume blend and coil selector on the ATK800). If being able to get a Stingrayish tone is important go for the ATK. Other than that I've got nothing to offer. Both are good basses. I use them for differing applications, but those are my idiosyncrasies. Your mileage will vary.
With the L2000 remember that tone controls are passive. The Active and Active w/ treble boost just turn on the preamp in the bass. The knobs stay functional in all modes 100% of the time. If you want to run the volume maxed out you will have to pad the input. The L2000's output is very hot.
If the preamp in the ATK800 is similar to the other models you can adjust the output level via a trim pot in the control cavity.
I don't care about scale length, neck shape, fretboard radius, nor painted/unpainted necks. I just play.
