I really wish Peavey would've made a 7 string Cirrus, but this looks like a great alternative, Lovin' it!

D'ya mean Mr. Roland Guerin?

Man, I totally agree...

That's what I try to explain whenever I go for a (brief n' quick)
slap session thru our weekly rehearsals with thrash band Nowhere: why I do love funk n' Rn'B (bein' a bass player, even if an average one myself) that music is not only soul, it comes out from your deepest soul

Cheers,
Wallace

I'd like to own a BTB7. I already have a GTBD-7 setup for BEADGCF. If I were to pick up this BTB7, I'd set it up from beginning at the low F#.

So I'm not the only one with a full-width sevenstring Ibanez anymore...

Within the comments section of Ben's video, I posted some general questions for him. I'll report back here if/when he replies. He seems to be the only person that tested the Ibanez BTB7 (at least on video).

I was wondering whether the neck is thin like most Ibanez basses, and asked about the neck/fretboard width. Basically, I wanted to know if it feels like Ibanez just squeezed 7-strings into a 6-string bass neck. I also asked if he previously tried a Conklin GTBD-7, and whether the 2 instruments are comparable.

I may need look at the video again... Now, I'm wondering if it has 1 or 2 truss rods.

Ben replied to my questions

"The neck felt very comfortable. It felt at home and yes just like most Ibanez basses. I don't own any 7 strings at all, this was my 2nd time ever playing a 7 string."

Re: GTBD-7 vs BTB7 "They are both really excellent basses. I might be biased since I'm an Ibanez artist... I think the decision to use the Nordstrand pickups in the higher end basses is a big plus."

By "like most Ibanez basses", I'm not sure whether he was referring to the thin neck, fretboard width, or both.

Wow! That video was only his 2nd time ever to pick up a 7-string. I thought his playing seemed so natural. I had assumed he played them for years.

So did they add a low or a high string to a normal B to C six string?

High C.

I'm almost certain it has dual truss rods. Their 6ers already do.

It is standard to set up a 7-String as BEADGCF. If you wanted, you could set it up again lower, at F#BEADGC.

Then, I see some possible "djent"/math metal dudes getting one.

I don't play metal (anymore) & wouldn't mind a low F# available if I wanted to use it.
