I know... no pics... no basses. That's OK. You can see pics of my PGB1 in the classifieds (decided to keep it... plays/sounds too good). I'll take pics of the others as soon as I land the GWB2.
There's a cool '70s Ibanez (Ric Clone) on the San Diego Craigslist for $600. It's not mine... but I would love to call it mine: ) 70's Rickenbacker lawsuit Ibanez bass

And she will be learning on a very well set up bass, and it is really cool to know a n00b isn't playing cheese cutter junk. I believe most bad habits are developed from learning on poor equipment. maybe, just maybe, i have stopped this from happening just once.
and, in a couple of months when i have some readily anticipated cash flow, i will be in the market for a new-to-me ibby fretted 4. I am already starting to GAS for a BTB or an SB.

| | Kick it in the guts, Barry!! | | Join Date: Dec 2011 Location: Seattle, WA | | | Ibanez RD500 here, cherry burst with QM top.
Mods: Nothing except replacing all knobs. Found some decent ones at GC.
Fixes:
1. Replaced those whitish plastic spacers (second photo) where the tuning knobs screw onto the shaft. Two were cracked and one fell off. So I fabricated all new ones using 3/16" X 1/4" nylon bushings and whittled down to near-correct thickness using a Dremel + grinding disk-pretty easy.
2. Tone pot: broken, took 2 months for tech to replace. May upgrade entire preamp if I can (any suggestions?)
3. Buffed out swirls and scratches with Mother's California Gold Scratch Remover.
EDIT: OOOOPS! Color is sunburst, not cherry, had to go to Ibanez Register to confirm that. Model yr. is 2004.

The GWB1, GWB2, and PGB1 are factory stock.
The GWB35 has a Bartolini CB5BC-T pickup, Bartolini NTBT preamp (with active/passive volume switch), Gotoh (GWB1) knobs, and Gotoh GB7 tuners. The bass was missing one of the "Suregrip" knobs when I got it and the stock tuners were worn out.
If anyone has a Suregrip knob (or two) they'd part with please shoot me a PM.

My Korean made SR won the competition and got to stay, surprisingly. Something to do with the overall feel, the resonant body/rosewood fingerboard, passive electronics etc. Actually it might be the only 4-string bass I'm not moving along in the future... we'll see. My Fernandes Jazz is giving it a run for it's money, though.
