I thought I posted in this thread, but I guess I didn't. Would you give my Ibby ("Heaven's Thunder" is what I like to call it) a number?

I don't know if anyone has come across one, but I'm hunting for a second SR506 neck to defret so that I can keep my original one.

IIRC, there's a defretted SR505 in a pawn shop near me, I'm pretty sure it's a 505 and not a 506, but I can check it out if you're interested.

I posted this shot of my Ibby's on another thread... Figured I'd share them here... on the left is my SR Prestige, purchased new in 2000. On the right is my BTB 776, purchased last year. Both are fantastic to play!

Ive played with them on my old schecter damien 4 and they were awesome, but have only had High beams on my sr500...i play progressive/slow/melodic/hard rock with elements of pink floyd to tool...i slap/finger pick/strum/tap in various songs.......i need advice please!

I had a SR505 and I preferred the Hi Beams. The Fat Beams weren't horrible by any means, just not my sound and I thought the Hi Beams were more even sounding. Realistically you need to try them and then decide for yourself. Not to be trite but we may not hear things the same way.

Indeed! actually the first time shes done that! Think i may just go ahead and throw them on and wing it. The high beams weren't as full on the high end of the neck to me...this bass has so much versatility, just searchin for the perfect strings
