IIRC, there's a defretted SR505 in a pawn shop near me, I'm pretty sure it's a 505 and not a 506, but I can check it out if you're interested.

Ive played with them on my old schecter damien 4 and they were awesome, but have only had High beams on my sr500...i play progressive/slow/melodic/hard rock with elements of pink floyd to tool...i slap/finger pick/strum/tap in various songs.......i need advice please!

The Fat Beams weren't horrible by any means, just not my sound and I thought the Hi Beams were more even sounding. Realistically you need to try them and then decide for yourself. Not to be trite but we may not hear things the same way.

The high beams weren't as full on the high end of the neck to me...this bass has so much versatility, just searchin for the perfect strings
