Could be an illusion, maybe not - been so busy playing it I hadn't noticed. Easy enough to fix if it is out of whack I suppose. I'll check it out. No worries.

Behind it is a 1994 SR 800.

Be careful, that part might break off, and if you don't have through-body stringing, you might lose your A string entirely......

Follow up:
You guys were right - the A string holder at the base of the bridge is slightly tweaked. I think I can gently coax it back down to its original position on my bench vise (with proper protection on the chrome so it doesn't get scratched). It doesn't seem to be affecting playability - no issues yet after 3-4 weeks with it. Thanks again for the keen eyes Technotitclan - still hard to believe I missed it myself while trying it out in the store. This was a pre-owned instrument BTW, no fault of Ibanez. I'll have to relegate this to gig backup & home use until it is fixed. I know Ibanez lists exact manufacturer part numbers (bridges, tuning gears, knobs, etc) for all their instruments on their website, so I may inquire about a new bridge altogether from Ibanez through an authorized dealer.

| | Registered User | | Join Date: Aug 2004 Location: St Louis Area | | NBD SR-705 (in Charcoal Brown) FedEx delivered this beautiful new SR-705 at 8:00am this morning, but I am stuck at work and won't be able to unbox it or check it out until later tonight. I am very anxious to hear it and also very interested in the tone of the Bartolini MK1's as compared to the CAP humbuckers in the SR-375M. Lots of experimenting & playing tonight for sure!
I'll try to post some pics of my own later, but I don't imagine they could even compete with Sweetwater's own hi-res pics.
This 5-string weighs in at exactly 9lbs - I'm real happy about that.
Here are a few of Sweetwater's pics:

I like the Barts but I'll also say that the Caps are the best sounding pickups I've heard on any of the mid to lower models. Very impressed with them.

I feel the same way about Ibanez' own CAP pickups - they sound very, very good to me as well. I'm curious to A/B tonight against the Barts & see what's what with the tonal differences.
