Ibanez Iceman ICB300EX

Interested in that bass some time ago... Liked the price, the look & the tone on youtube demos... But who can depend on youtube completely? I'd like to listen it by myself, but it's kinda discontinued, and I can't find it in my town - only preowned ones passing by on ebay... So some opinions of ones familiar with that bass could be very helpfull. By the way, I got '87 Ibanez Roadstar II RB-851 already...

So, will it be some kind of downgrade, or is it a reliable bass with good tone. Any opinions?

The guitar player in my band has one. Aside from the cool body shape, I dont really like them. IMO the neck is fat and uncomfortable, and the bass has a hideous neck dive problem. As far as I can remember, the sound was ok, but I never really could get past the other stuff to spend enough time dialing it in. His had the humbuckers in it.

FWIW

Just picked one up for 120$... Does the Entwistle thing really well. True that the neck dive is a serious problem. The bridge pu is so close to the bridge that you can get some REALLY nice harmonics and splanky-ness, and who can pass the ridiculous body and headstock shape? Not me! I love it!

i moved both strap buttons a few times so mines got some holes in it. but finally found a (mostly) comfortable hang with LESS neck dive. I still dont play it often at all. too bad the shape is cool

I have a 93 that I like, but I don't play it a whole lot due to the neck dive. It sounds fine.

I tried a 5 stringer long time ago. It sounded very good! Nice deep, punchy sound and still clear!

The neck feels pretty good, very solid. Nice axe for the heavy stuff :)
