My 630 is a snarling beast, albeit one whose a little challenged in midrange definition. That being said, it brings an awesome blooming, complex, muscular tonal color to my paintbox. I happen to love the Japanese. |

take it to a luthier and that ball is rolling.
In other words: I don't think you'll find many that are not already on a bass. I could very well be wrong though.

Need is dead straight, frets are totally level, action is super low with no buzz. The bass kills!

| | | | Ibanez RB650 I have always been a fan of the older Ibanez basses. I picked up a 1984 RB650 which was sort of a Royal Blue and had many chips and dents on it. I took it apart removed the finish and refinished it in an Ivory color. It turned out great. Not perfect but after all its 26 years old and its suppose to look like it. My other bass is an American Precision and during a jam the other day the Precision sat in its case. Having the P and J pickup configuration is great. Well worth the $130 I spent! |

| | | | The Best Bass Ever for Me I bought a RS820SS in late 1982 because as soon as I pulled it from the rack in the music store, I fell in love with the neck! It was my perfect bass - it has an alder body, 34-inch scale, rosewood fretboard. and a Super J6 pickup with 3-way switch. I quit playing in 1998 and sold all my equipment (4 bass amps, 2 complete PA and monitor systems, 3 guitars, and 3 basses). Eleven years later, I had occasion to play in church, and now I've bought more equipment, including my old RS820SS!! It still sounds and plays the same as it did years ago. I get the best tone from it and have never had a problem. I've played some modern Ibanez basses with active electronics, but even with the excellent neck of Ibanez basses, the new ones don't feel right - too light and I don't like active electronics. I absolutely love my old Roadstar II!! |

| | | | my Roadstar RB650 Wow nice to find this forum, Radioripster...I own the red one, perfect condition and love it. As far as the pick ups, well I am not a sound wiz but they worked great for me and still do. I do remember one show I had a low end buzz, but I ran a metal pedal through my bass for some killer, "Godzilla" sound. I am not very talented at the bass but it sure can be alot of fun and it brings back the memories of the old band playing together and riding in the back of a meat truck. I didn't play this alot on stage, I had Rikki that if I'd of only known how much it was worth I would have never sold it back to the guy I bought from. Paid him 700 for it, he paid me 1500 2 years later. I was young what can I say.
The red one I feel is awsome, smooth action and the feel. I could go on and on that Bass has always made a bad day good and it take a licking. ( Ofcourse I have to play through a headset now as oppossed to the old Peavy Basic 50) |

Though there are better basses in today's market, these basses can still hold their own, especially against other passive Fender P/PJ style basses. To this day, this is the only bass I've ever owned that gave me the most accurate Eddie Jackson tone from the Operation Mindcrime era. At one time I said I wouldn't want another one, but I would love to have one of these again. They're quality.
