Ibanez rhythm bass?
 

Hey guys, new to talkbass and also the bass guitar.I was looking on the Internet at basses for sale and came across this bass called a "ibanez rhythm bass", it's from the 60's, and also the jet king is based on it if your wondering what it looks like (sorry I can't post pics, I'm on my phone). Does anyone have any info or knowledge of this bass?also The guy Is asking $400 for it.

Ibanez instruments from the 1960s are a lot more fun to look at than they are to play. A lot of them are quirky and cool, but they're not very high-quality.

It wasn't until the 1970s that Ibanez and other Japanese brands began to build good quality instruments. They made up for lost time quickly; making excellent stuff by the mid '70s, but Ibby basses from as early as the Rhythm Maker model are more like stage props than instruments.

unless you are looking at that bass for a specific reason i would pass. i know that your choices are more limited than ours in the USA but there are better options out there for $400.
we actually have several members from down under and i bet they will offer you some good advice.
