| | | | Ibanez updates web page Just go to: www.ibanez.com
The highlights/disappointments for me:
- No more 5-string ATK model. This is not good, I mean come on Ibanez, the 5-string is very popular in Rock and definitely in Metal, and it's the players from these genres that the ATK model appeals the most.
- The new ATK prestige and the SR-premium will be available in the USA in Summer 2011!!!!! That's quite a long time. So, what now, will we get the leftovers from EU?
- The ATK prestige now has a balance knob (Great!) but the layout of the knobs is really confusing, here:
- The new Grooveline basses look nice, would love to try them out.
- The SRT line still there, but only the 8xx line, the 9xx has been discontinued I guess.
- There is a new SR506 w/ maple fretboard, this is great, here:
- The SR300F & the Gary Willis line are the ONLY fretless basses that Ibanez offer, no 6-string fretless.
Pretty much that's it, I just wish things where a bit more interesting.

I am curious as to why they still don't list the SR35 5-string fretless. I spoke to an Ibanez rep about it, and while he had no information on it, he did say that it was not discontinued.

That maple 506 looks wicked, though.

Sad that there's no more SRT900DX. I love my 800.

For that, I'd keep an eye on Dolphin Music, they usually are the first online dealers to put the new models up for sale, they are in EU though, here: http://www.dolphinmusic.co.uk/produc...-espresso.html

This is just way too expensive, I know it's made in Japan (right?) but it's not the Prestige line so it will probably be on the same level as the Korean made ones. If I'm shopping for one like that, I'd get a G&L tribute for $800.
This price point puts the Grooveline in competition w/ Carvin SB4000, SB5000 series, and IMHO it's a no brainer choice, I'd go w/ the Carvins. @WaskoDS: I noticed you're using Elementary DE, so you're running Linux, I run Linux exclusively myself, just saying hi

Oh well, C'mon, not everyone has $2k sitting around to blow.
